Shito Ryu Karate | Grappling | Okinawan Weapons
Our striking game is derived from this Okinawan martial art. Learn the elements of effective fighting while enjoying the beauty of movement through kata (patterns).
Most often fights end up on the ground. Grappling will show you how to defend yourself when striking is no longer the best - or possible - option.
An ancient form of martial arts, Kobudo skills teach the use of weapons as an extension of your body. Learn techniques with bo, sai, nunchaku, tonfa and short sticks.
We like to use this fast-paced version of handball as a fun warm-up and wrap-up during class. It's a great cardio workout. Watch for our regular tournaments!
If you'd like to test your skills against other students from around the province - and the world - we'll support you every step of the way.
Our dojo is a community. You're always welcome to stay after class and share a coffee and some conversation before you return to your busy day.
Geared towards students ages 4-12 years. Our annual children/youth class fees are based on a 10-month average. We follow the school holiday schedule. Note: members are required to register with Karate BC for insurance purposes - $50/year (September to August)

We strive to develop well-rounded martial artists. That means being proficient in all aspects of the art: striking , the ground game and the use of weapons.
But we also nurture the core qualities of a student:
kindness, respect, discipline, compassion.
Our dojo isn't just a gym, it's a community of students committed to working on their skills while sharing their knowledge with others.
Sensei Tom Mah has over 49 years of experience training and teaching in martial arts and his instructors bring decades of experience, as well.
They share a deep commitment to helping students achieve their training goals.
We strive to make this a safe & welcoming space for all of our students.
Our custom-built facility was designed and equipped to be a place where students can safely challenge themselves, learn and grow to their best potential.
